What's your real FIRE number?

Healthcare costs in India inflate faster than everyday expenses — blending them into one inflation rate understates what you'll actually need. This tracks them separately, and then checks whether your withdrawal rate genuinely survives to your planned age.

Questions people actually ask

What's the difference between Lean, Regular, and Fat FIRE?
They're the same calculation at different expense multipliers — Lean assumes a leaner lifestyle in retirement (roughly 70% of your Regular number), Fat assumes a more comfortable one (roughly 150%). Regular is your number as calculated from your actual current expenses.
Why does the depletion check matter if I already have a safe withdrawal rate?
A safe withdrawal rate is a rule of thumb calibrated to historical averages — it doesn't automatically account for your specific inflation and return assumptions. The depletion simulation checks whether your specific numbers are internally consistent, rather than trusting the ratio blindly.
Is 3.5% a conservative safe withdrawal rate?
It's more conservative than the commonly cited global 4% rule, which was calibrated mostly on U.S. market history — Indian retirement planners often suggest a lower rate given different market conditions and a longer typical retirement horizon for early retirees.
