Snowball or avalanche — which clears your debt faster?
Add every credit card, personal loan, and other debt you're carrying. Both strategies are simulated at once so you can see the actual trade-off, not just one method's numbers.
Add at least one debt (balance, rate, and minimum payment) to see your payoff plan.
Questions people actually ask
- Why would anyone choose snowball if avalanche saves more money?
- Behavioral momentum — clearing a small debt completely, quickly, is motivating in a way that chipping away at a large high-rate balance for a long time isn't. If sticking to the plan matters more to you than the last few thousand rupees of interest, snowball is a legitimate choice, not just a worse one.
- How does the 'extra payment' actually get used?
- Every debt gets its minimum payment first. Whatever's left over — your extra budget, plus the minimum payments of any debts you've already paid off — goes entirely toward the next debt in priority order. That redirection of freed-up minimums is the actual mechanism that makes either strategy accelerate over time.
